Refactoring, Details, Sound?
The bulk of this week was spent refactoring the code to make it more organized, using the clean architecture principles I have been learning in my Software Design course I am taking currently during the summer. This has made it much easier for me to add new features, so hopefully I can easily add more polish as we need.
Thanks to the refactoring, I was able to easily add this very nice animation for the powerup. I am still hoping that I can add some particle effects for the powerup tile though.
Watch the tiles disappear! I am hoping that the satisfying nature of the game will keep students hooked. Playtesters for this game did often comment on how the fluid animations made the game more fun to play. Hopefully this, along with other future details will make this game addicting for students trying to learn their factors.
Lastly for this week, I was trying to get audio working so I can add satisfying sounds but I ran out of time. The (broken) code for the audio is still in the project however.
